August Reflections & A Look Ahead
August Reflections & A Look Ahead
Can you believe we’re already in August?
Summer always seems to move a little faster than the rest of the year. One minute we’re welcoming June, and the next, we’re watching the sun set a little earlier each evening. August is that sweet, in-between space—a time to pause, reflect, and reconnect before we head into the busier months ahead.
This year, August holds special meaning for me.
If you’ve been following along, you know that The Legacy of a Fool has been such a personal and powerful project. I’m still incredibly grateful for all of you who have read it, shared it, and reached out with your reflections. Your words, support, and connection have meant more than you know. Writing that book stretched me in the best ways—and reminded me why I tell stories in the first place.
And here’s the exciting part:
I’m currently working on a new book. It’s still early in the process, but the themes are unfolding in a way that feels raw, honest, and necessary. There’s more to come, and I’ll be sharing sneak peeks and updates in the months ahead. Stay tuned—this next chapter is shaping up to be something special.
As I spend August writing, reflecting, and quietly creating, here are a few things I’m intentionally leaning into:
- Slowing Down to Speed Up
Instead of rushing through these final weeks of summer, I’m making time to sit still. To think. To let ideas come in their own time. Creativity needs room to breathe—and I’m giving it that space.
-
Reconnecting with Nature
Whether it's journaling outside in the early morning or walking at dusk, I find that nature has a way of grounding me, especially when I’m writing. The best ideas often come when I’m not chasing them.
-
Revisiting Purpose
With half the year behind us, I’m asking myself: What still matters? What do I want the rest of 2025 to feel like? Not just for my writing, but for life. Simplicity and intention are the themes I keep coming back to.
If you haven’t read The Legacy of a Fool yet, now’s a great time to dive in. It’s a story about identity, missteps, lessons learned the hard way, and ultimately—growth. If it resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if it challenges you, even better.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. I can’t wait to share more about what’s coming next.
Here’s to a mindful, meaningful August—
one day at a time.
With gratitude,
Justin Henderson
